Tony's Social Media

Tony Haynes is the preeminent practitioner of Acrostic Poetry. In less than a minute, he can literally pull a poem out of thin air. Give him the title of what you’d like to call your poem and he will create it for you on the spot. The catch is he will write your name in the air then show you how the beginning of each line in the poem he’s creating spells the letters of your name downward. It’s an eloquent combination of spontaneous penmanship and showmanship. The poem is being written down as he speaks it into existence. This way, the person he’s creating it for has an instant one-of-a-kind personalized gift that they can cherish for a lifetime.

Before Tony realized he had this rare poetic talent, he was and still is a prolific lyricist, songwriter, music publisher and record producer. In this capacity, Tony has accomplished a great deal. “Send A Little Love,” his first song, was recorded by the Spinners in 1981. Since then, Tony’s songs have been recorded on over 200 albums, selling in excess of 60 million copies worldwide. These songs have earned him 60 gold and multi-platinum awards, as well as several ASCAP Awards. Songs from his Music Publishing catalogues include; Bobby Brown’s “Get Away”, Robert Palmer’s “Hyperactive”, The Whisper’s “Innocent”, Jeffrey Osborne’s “She’s On The Left”, as well as songs recorded by Karyn White, Earth, Wind & Fire, Al Jarreau, Regina Belle, Troop, Go West, SOS Band, George Duke, Chante Moore, Evelyn Champagne King, Peabo Bryson, Kool & The Gang, The Temptations, Isley Brothers and many others. He has collaborated with the most successful writers and producers in the world.

In 1993, Tony turned his considerable talents to the world of children’s entertainment. He began producing audio products, writing books and creating animated characters. He made deals with Warner Kids, Dove Audio, T.W. Kids, Kid WB Music & Kid Rhino. Under these deals, Tony wrote and/or produced “Bugs Bunny in Carrotblanca”, “Looney Tunes Lovables Lullabies”, Pinky & The Brain’s “Bubba Bo Bob Brain”, “The Animaniacs Hip Hopera Christmas”, and many other wonderful projects featuring Martin Landau, Jonathan Winters, Dixie Cater, Members of Take 6, Kool Moe Dee and Howard Hewett. Tony also directed Chick Hearn’s play-by-play on Kid WB’s “Space Jam” audio adventure. For Hanna Barbera and Motown, Tony was an Executive Producer for “The Flintstone’s Motown Christmas.” For Mattel/Sony Wonder, he co-wrote “Slide”, which appeared on Barbie’s “Beyond Pink” album.

Tony has authored 34 children’s books based on the Baby Looney Tunes characters. These books were published by Warner Bros Worldwide Publishing, Landoll and Penguin Books. Titles include; “Fly Kite”, “Yummy Treat”, “Nap Land”, “Good-Night Baby Tweety”, “RazzamaTaz”, “A Dune Buggy Ride With Baby Taz”, “Baby Tweety’s Flying Machine”, “Bubbles”, “Baby Sylvester’s Big Day” and “Baby Bugs’ Favorite Things”.

Tony is also the author of several books, they include: “Throwing A Dart Through The Heart Of Tradition”, “The Reincarnation of Douglas Kavanaugh,” “Spiritchilism by Definition,” “SpiritChili, Recipes for Life,” “A Few Poems from Words I Found in Divorced,” “Poems in Favor of The Separation Between Church and Hate,” and “This Has Everything to do with My Life.” He has co-written a book with Karyn White called, "Carpe Diem, Thoughts & Affirmations to Seize the Day."

In his present incarnation, Tony has added ‘spoken word artist’ to the hats he seems to juggle seamlessly. His current project is called “The Pianist and The Poet. It’s a collaboration with French composer, Stephane d’Esposito. This elegant and romantic production is distributed by Bungalo Records/Universal Music Group.

And last but certainly not least, Tony is also executive producing and creating original programming for television. He has several shows in development based on his novels and scripts.
