Sarah Lamar King is California made, moving to Washington early in life, where she currently resides. Born to a musician and a free spirit who weren’t ready to be parents, she was adopted when she was 6 months old. She met her biological father for the first time when she was 23. They remained close until his death on Valentines day 2003. She met her biological mother a handful of times throughout her life, few and far between, as her mother went where the wind and the alcohol took her. These events as well as raising a disabled child, dealing with loss and hopelessness, domestic violence, and walking in others shoes, have all contributed to the pieces she writes.

“Sarah is brilliant and has such an emotionally refined style that with so few words can squeeze the pain from your beating heart.” - @corva.de.obsidian - Instagram
“Sarah’s poetry is so liberating; her words are dark, deep, incredibly personal, and executed with such a beautiful, raw honesty that the reader is given a powerful connection to their inner self…the sublime gift of poetic therapy.” – Sarah Rachel Clarke artist/painter
“A writer of outstanding proportion. The dark, shaded soul that we read as Sarah’s harsh experience is what draws me rapidly toward her. Having felt and gone through relatable times and losses, she delves relentingly. Countless times I’ve felt her pain and its connection to mine. What a blessing to find an author, not only of her dark content, not wallowing in self pity, but gaining a higher meaning of hurt for future situations. The darkness bathes her in a golden light, a fitting description for such a talent.” -Jessica Viera President Indie Affair magazine, author ‘The Rising', literary artist

“Sarah Lamar King is so gifted, its like she reaches right inside you, to your deepest…darkest parts and gives these emotions beautiful words…in doing so creating a comfort and a sort of release to finally see in words and read what you are feeling. Her work is beyond compare, by far my favorite poet above even Blake and Poe.”

Sarah began writing poetry in the 3rd grade, her first collection of poetry being called ‘Poems Galore'. There were several times throughout life when she had to stop writing, times when she was silenced by life, was void of feeling, or felt too much to put anything on paper.
She finds solace in the elegiac poetry that she writes today. She began sharing some of her pieces on social media and realized how much feeling her poetry brought about in others, her ultimate goal. Sarah has always wanted to be an author and thanks to Creative Talents Unleashed and their publishing contract it was brought to fruition. “My North Star Misled Me” is her first published book, a long awaited dream come true, in hopes that her words can reach farther than she ever can.
A place where words speak for themselves.
Sarah’s work is well known on Instagram, where she is acquiring and connecting with poets from all around the world.
